let us all sculpt!

 Contouring.. you either get it so right or so wrong! it's something a lot of clients don't tend to do, yet i find it so rewarding for sculpting the face.  I now cannot imagine life without contouring & highlighting, i just don't feel like me without it.
The whole idea of contouring & highlighting is to basically pull in & push out; using shadow & light to either minimize or emphasize your features!

These mac sculpting creams have been out a little while, so i realise i'm a little late to the party, but better late than never!
These came out in the regular mac cosmetics line for a limited time but they are still available at all mac pro stores for those that still want to get your hands on them!

I'm always on the hunt for new, exciting sculpting products on the market, eager to find something to outshine my current routine!
There are many ways to contour, the majority of people finding it easier using powder products, personally, for myself i have to disagree with this.  I find liquid & cream products give of such a better finish with both contouring & highlighting.  You can have both a subtle & sharp effect depending on the amount of product you use aswell as what you use to apply it, with the more cream type products i find them much more of a dream to blend than powder!

This is why i am so in love with the sculpting creams, they resemble the texture to a mix of a concealer & a cream blush, super creamy but thick enough to hold their ground!  The best way to apply these products i find is to place an amount on the back of the hand & really warm it up with your fingertips! Then when it comes to applying it on the skin, the products will just melt into the skin, causing no harsh lines or looking patchy & as an extra bonus they are a cream to powder finish, although they don't set as such, they definitely stay put!
The sculpting creams are available in numerous shades, i currently have five.  They retail for around the £17.50 mark, admittingly a little steep for most, but definitely worth getting one or two shades for your personal use, for professional make-up artists, there really is no way to make these purse-friendly but i can say these photograph a dream & are wonderful for layering, they are my go to cream products for highlighting & contouring, although a little tip; when it comes to highlighting particularly underneath the eyes, i'd definitely recommend either blotting or semi-setting to avoid slight flashback!

SHADES: Accentuate, Naturally Defined, Pure Sculpture,
Coffee Walnut, Richly Honed

If a little skeptic about using your fingertips to apply, the best brushes to apply these products would be a short duo-fibre brush (i'm thinking MAC's 130) to really blend in the product!
 When contouring, it's always best to start of with the majority of the product at the hairline, & gradually pushing the rest in towards the middle of the face, this is the best way of achieving the most even distrubution of product, therefore giving you the most flawless finish!

Have you tried these products? How do you apply them?
